Justification (By Faith alone, by works alone, or both? )
* Romans 1:17 - The just shall live by faith ,
Galatians 5:6 - "Faith working through love"
2 John 6 - Love is following His commandments
Romans 12:9-13 - "Let love be genuine, hold fast to what is good"
Acts 16:30-31 - Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved
John 3:36 - Not obeying is not believing
Mark 10:17 -"What must I do to be saved?"
Mark10:19-21 - Obey the commandments
1 John 2:3-5 - "He who says, 'I know him' but disobeys His commandments is a liar"
Revelation 20:12, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 2:2-8, 1 Peter 1:17 - We are judged
by our deeds .
Romans 2:13 - Doers of the law not hearers of the law will be justified
James 1:22-25- We are called to be doers of the word!
Matthew 7:21,24,26-, Luke 6:46-49- Not everyone who says, Lord, Lord, will be
saved, but only he who does the will of the Father!
James 2:14-26 - "Faith without works is dead"
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have
works? Can that faith save him?
17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead
18 Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate
your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
19 You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.
20 Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac
upon the altar?
22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works.
24 See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
26 For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
(Notice that the only place in Scripture where the word "alone" is used with
the word "faith" is in verse 24 above, to tell us the opposite of what "Sola
Fide" claims; namely, that justification is NOT by faith alone!)
Phil 2:12 - We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling!
Matthew 25:31-46 - The saved are those who feed the poor and cloth the naked
John 14:6 - Yes, Jesus is the only way to salvation .
Matthew 25:40 - But if you reject your neighbor,  you reject Jesus !
John 14:15 & 21 - Notice, Jesus does not say, "If you love Me, have faith," but
rather He says, "If you love Me, Keep My Commandments!"
* Ephesians 2:8-9 - Yes, Catholics believe we are saved by grace, not our works ,
Matthew 25:14-30 - but we must put God's Graces to work! We can not be like the
wicked, lazy servant, who knew his Master was a demanding person, yet did
nothing with the talent, (grace), his Master gave him!
Matthew 7:21 - [that's why] Only those who do the will of the Father will enter the
kingdom ! Also, see Luke 12:47
The question of which type of faith, is often ignored by Protestants!  There are, in fact, two
types of Faith:
1) A Living Faith, which includes "Works" and
2) A Dead Faith which does not include "Works" and is compared to the dead faith of
demons! (James 2:14-26)
