SCANDAL IN THE CHURCH !
The Shaking Of My Faith
For it is time for the judgment to begin with the household of God
In the 2000 years since Jesus founded His Church, various
unsuccessful attempts have been made from without to destroy her.
The blood of the Martyrs attest to this fact and it is because of them
it seems, that Satan began his assaults from within the Church. But
Jesus affirmed that the gates of hell would not prevail against her!
The Catholic Church, in the early centuries, confronted many
heresies and, guided by the Holy Spirit, faced each one head on.
Some were met with Anathema, (Ex-communication), while others
left of there own accord. Today, it seems that the very Holiness of
the Church is under attack! For while none of the offenders
disagree openly with the doctrines and dogmas of faith, or even her
moral theology, they have secretly been indulging in their own evil
desires. This sort of traitor is harder to deal with because they are
harder to detect. They are "Wolves in sheep's clothing!" They are
the weeds among the wheat!
Shortly before these scandals became public, I had heard
rumblings that there were Gay Priests and Pedophiles in our
Parishes and Seminaries. God forbid! He would never permit such
a thing within the Holy Catholic Church! I quickly dismissed these
rumors as just another attempt to pull me away from my faith.
These rumors began to intensify, including the complicity of several
Bishops in a cover up and possibly direct involvement in the abuse
of children, the little lambs they were supposed to shepherd and
protect! Again, I dismissed these claims as totally impossible!
Then the headlines broke, the victims came forward, the admissions
by the accused began, and I wept! My faith, badly shaken, went
into a death spiral! Pull Up! Pull Up! For several weeks I
struggled to save my wounded faith! I talked to God as never
before! Why? How?
'Jesus, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the
weeds come from?' He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' For the
most part, I remained silent at work as I bore one critic after
another; posting headlines of the latest scandal where I was sure to
see it. I quietly listened to one smug comment or joke after
another. What could I say? I had no answer! I questioned my
faith and yes, I even doubted my faith! Were all the critics right?
Was I just wasting my time trying to be a good Catholic! Had I,
and millions of others really been duped into following a false
religion? A man made religion that used God as a means of
exercising control and power over the people of the world? Was
this the end of the Church I had believed Christ established 2,000
years ago? Have the gates of hell prevailed against her, and if they
have, then how could this be the true church with the promise of
never being destroyed? How many other fellow Catholics felt the
same way?
AND THEN GOD CAME TO MY AID !
It was pure grace that left me enough faith and motivation to
continue praying and reading Sacred Scripture and the Catechism
of the Catholic Church.
It was pure grace that left me enough faith and motivation to
continue going to Confession and Mass!
It was pure grace that I heard the reading of 1 Peter:
Chapter 4
17 For it is time for the judgment to begin with the household of
God; if it begins with us, how will it end for those who fail to obey
the gospel of God?
18 "And if the righteous one is barely saved, where will the godless
and the sinner appear?"
It was pure grace that I heard the reading of the Gospel of John:
Chapter 2
13 Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to
Jerusalem.
14 He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and
doves, as well as the money-changers seated there.
15 He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the
temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the
money-changers and overturned their tables,
16 and to those who sold doves he said, "Take these out of here, and
stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
It was pure grace that I read the Gospel of Luke:
Chapter 18
8 I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
It was pure grace that I read the Gospel of Matthew:
Chapter13
24 He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven
may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
25 While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all
through the wheat, and then went off.
26 When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
27 The slaves of the householder came to him and said, 'Master, did
you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come
from?'
28 He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' His slaves said to him,
'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
29 He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the
wheat along with them.
30 Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will
say to the harvesters, "First collect the weeds and tie them in
bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn."'"
37 He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man,
38 the field is the world, the good seed the children of the
kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one,
39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end
of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
WHERE IS THE DEVIL AND HIS SEED ?
Pope Leo XIII (d. 1903) had a prophetic vision of the coming
century of sorrow and war. After celebrating Mass, the Holy
Father was conferring with his cardinals. Suddenly, he fell to the
floor. The cardinals immediately called for a doctor. No pulse was
detected, and the Holy Father was feared dead. Just as suddenly,
Pope Leo awoke and said, "What a horrible picture I was
permitted to see!" In this vision, God gave Satan the choice of one
century in which to do his worst work against the Church. The
devil chose the twentieth century.
Now I get it!
It is not surprising that the devil and his seed, (the weeds), would be
within the same field as the good seed, the children of the Kingdom!
It is not surprising that the devil and his seed are in the Catholic
Church, if in fact the Catholic Church is the Kingdom of God on
Earth! This confirms that I'm in the True Church!
It should be no surprise that the True Church will have in it's
midst, Wolves in Sheep's Clothing!
It is fitting that God judges His Own House First!
It is fitting that God exposes the evil in His Own House First!
It is fitting that God roots out evil in His Own House First!
It is fitting that God cleanses His Own House First!
Once again, the promise is fulfilled. The Gates of Hell have not
prevailed! The Catholic Church is Supernatural! It can not be
destroyed! It's members, who were so inclined to persevere to the
end, have been rewarded by a springtime renewal of faith! God
opened our eyes and hearts to show us what was really happening!
He affirmed, once again, that He is Sovereign, that His House is a
House of Prayer and that every knee shall bend, and every head
shall bow at the name of our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Our Prayers go out to those victims of this attack, deeply wounded
and neglected. Please forgive us, your brothers and sisters in the
Church; Your Fellow members of the Body of Christ! We didn't
know this was taking place. There are other victims also. Those
countless souls who may find it difficult to become a Catholic, we
pray for Jesus to guide you.
For those who left the Church, consider the others who have not
left Peter because of Judas or the several traitors in the Church.
Please come back! Don't give the devil a single victory in providing
you with a convenient excuse to leave your Mother! Consider the
objective of Satan is to destroy our faith in God, in the promises of
Jesus and in His Church! Don't allow him one inch! In Jesus'
name, Come Back!
For the greater part of this century, the faithful recited the prayer
to St. Michael at the end of the Mass. So moved was the Holy
Father, Pope Leo XIII, from his vision that he composed the
prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:
"St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle! Be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke
him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil
spirits who roam about the world seeking the ruin of souls." Pope
Leo ordered this prayer said at the conclusion of Mass in 1886.
