| ANYTHING BUT GOD! |
It is a fearful thing, to fall into the hands of the Living God!
HEBREWS 10:31
I have heard many people profess their belief in New Age,
where man is God, or Wicca, where man controls the
elements, uses magic and worships a Goddess who does not
judge. I have heard many say that Aliens from another planet
put us here on earth by seeding the planet or manipulating our
DNA, and that man mistakingly invented the God of the Bible
because he could not otherwise explain the advanced
technology of the Aliens! I've known people who have
listened to some nut on late night talk radio give some strange
theory on how man got here. I've listened to tapes telling me
to "Be the Budda," or promoting the "Power of Now," or the
"Power of Self," or speak of an impersonal higher power
within each of us, or "Spirit Guides" or reincarnation and
Karma! I've had people give me books and tapes such as "A
Course in Miracles," where there is no such thing as evil, the
devil or hell, and everything that man does, murder, rape,
abortion, etc; is supposed to happen! I've heard people speak
of God as simply "Pure Energy" as they quote Einstien's
formula, E=MC (squared) Anything but God! Especially a
personal God who is concerned about how we live out our
lives together on a planet that He created for us! Anything but
a God that man must give an account to; A God who will
judge and punish the evil deeds of man! Any other
explanation for our existence and journey, but not the God of
the Bible. Not the God of the Church or any other organized
religion!
I know people who reject all of the fulfilled prophecies of the
Bible, yet embrace the idea that we descended from Big Foot,
Apes, Aliens, or amoeba; or by the "Accidental Chance" of
certain cosmic chemicals combining in a "Just Right"
environment to form what we are today! Thousands of years
of Theology, Faith, Prophets, Witnesses and Martyrs,
Miracles, Signs, Blessings and Judgements are flippantly
dismissed in favor of just 20 minutes of some nut on the radio
who never has any physical evidence or anything more than a
personal theory, which I believe is really no theory at all, but a
personal preference to avoid the thought of a God who might
ask him to give an account of his life; A God who may ask
him about "Love" and "Charity!" A God who may ask him
about doing good and avoiding the evil of our lower passions!
Thousands of years of countless witnesses and scribes, and
countless faithful are dismissed in favor of some new book or
set of self help tapes or 60 minute radio guest.
This is not a "Faith" problem, this is a "Moral" problem!
It's not that these souls "Can't" believe,...It's that they do
not "want" to believe in a Personal God who loves His
children, His creatures, but holds them accountable for their
actions or lack of actions and judges accordingly!
